Self-Spreading Surface Layer

Surface-spreading compounds develop a "monomolecular layer" at the air-water interface.  The technology reduces evaporation by inhibiting the transport of water molecules from the water surface to the atmosphere.

1/2-lb Pouches

Designed for the Oilfield, WaterSavr O&G™ comes in water-soluble 1/2-lb pouches making it easy to apply to water storage ponds.  One pound (i.e. two pouches) is able to treat one acre of water storage.  As UV-degradation of the surface layer occurs, re-application every 3 days is recommended to ensure maximum protection of a given water resource.

Easy Transport In Field

Since the product self-assembles a layer on the water surface, the amount of product required depends on the exposed surface area of a given storage pond. ​​​ O&G™  comes in 20-pound containers, making it easy to transport. Additionally, zero CAPEX is required to begin saving water.

Use this quick reference chart to determine number of pouches you require.​​ Apply 1 pouch per ½-acre of water storage; each pouch contains ½-lb of material. (e.g. product dosing is dependent on surface area of the pond, not total volume). The chart details ​the benefits of using WaterSavr O&G™ throughout a calendar year in West Texas.

 

Assuming an evaporation reduction of 29% and a

water value of $1.00/bbl (encompassing costs of water sourcing, transport, and storage), the annual benefit-to-cost ratio exceeds 5:1 for a 1-Million bbl pond in West Texas.

 

As indicated by the chart, the net total savings for this size pond is nearly $150,000/year!

WITH LARGE PERMIAN OPERATOR

 

A leading hydraulic fracturing operator in the United States conducted small field trials using WaterSavr O&G™ in 2016 & 2017 followed by a large-scale trial in 2018 using 31 water ponds across their operations. After estimating a 20% reduction in evaporation through the trial, they implemented widescale usage of the product thereafter.
